1st XI Grand Final – Day 1
Day 1 of the 1st Xi District Grand Final saw Delacombe Park craft their way through to set them selves in a strong postition against Red Hill at Graydens Rd.
Chico and Jonny started the innings after Jonny won the toss and batted. Chico got off to his usual flyer before being caught on the boundary for 42… 15 Year old came Matt van Wijk came in about the 20th over and did the enormous job of building a 2 wicket partnership and unfortunately nicked out for 13 just prior to tea.
Joel came in just before tea with Jonny carrying through till tea to see Delacombe 2 down at the break. After the Break it was all Delacombe with Red Hill having no answers to Joel and Jonny patiently setting a platform for day 2 and finishing the day 2 for 156 of 76 overs.
